A few quick things

Bring the charger
I always need it for diagnostics. Laptop power adapters, external drive cables, anything the device normally uses.

Know your password
For most repairs I need to log in. If you've forgotten it, just say so — I can usually still help, it just takes longer.

Back up first if you can
I'm careful with your data, but failing hardware is unpredictable. If anything important is on there, copy it somewhere safe first.
