Bring the charger
It's needed for diagnostics on every job. Laptop power adapters, external drive cables, anything the device normally uses.

Know your password
Most repairs require signing in. If you've forgotten it, just say so — there's usually still a way through, it just takes a bit longer.

Back up first if you can
Your data is handled carefully, but failing hardware is unpredictable. If anything important is on there, copy it somewhere safe first.
